WE'VE BEEN COOKING THIS UP

WE'VE BEEN COOKING THIS UP FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW. IF YOU CAN MAKE IT, YOU SHOULD.

Equity Actors collaborate with award-winning playwrights to create a repertory of short plays in an intimate, inexpensive location.

Thirst Theater: Where curtain call meets last call.

@ Joe’s Garage, 1610 Harmon Place, Minneapolis, MN

Every Monday, 7:30 p.m.

$9 cover charge at the door
September 13 through November 8
Eleven new short plays exploring the drama and community of bars and restaurants, written in the daring, spontaneous and fun spirit of a good evening out, by award-winning playwrights Melanie Marnich, Bill Corbett, Alison Moore, Alan Berks, Cory Hinkle, Trista Baldwin, and Dominic Orlando. Performed in repertory style by Sonja Park, Tracey Maloney, Terry Hempleman, Amy McDonald, Chris Carlson, Phil Callen, Ron Menzel, Nathan Christopher, Brian Goranson, Ann Kim, and more.

Every Monday the program changes. Experience four to five original plays over a burger and a beer and enjoy the rare opportunity to see Actor’s Equity members perform at the table next to you.

THIRST’S MISSION:

· To create an environment where the numerous exceptionally talented professional actors and playwrights in the Twin Cities can work and play on their craft together and more often.

· To experiment with a new form of theater that is more spontaneous, more direct and more accessible to both artists and audiences.

THIRST VISION:

We want to create a place where Equity actors test, challenge, and stretch their skills through the new work of professional playwrights who push their own boundaries with uncensored, unrefined, exceptionally spontaneous scripts; a place where a new audience finds the joy and transcendence in live theater by engaging with talented theater artists at play; and a place where artists and audiences enjoy themselves in an environment where they are already, naturally, at ease.

For more information contact Alan Berks (info@alanberks,com), Chris Carlson (chris-carlson@mn.rr.com), or Tracey Maloney (tlmoney@earthlink.net). We want to include any Equity actors and professional playwrights who may be interested. Please come Monday nights to speak with us about participating in future Thirst events.

Good afternoon.

Good afternoon. It is unbearably hot here in Minneapolis right now. This fact seems ridiculously unfair considering the unbearable cold it was not too long ago. . . I'm trying to remember why I said I liked this town. . . O yeah
